The Euro Pricing & Dual Display Calculator is an online tool that converts Bulgarian lev (BGN) prices to euro (EUR) prices using the official fixed exchange rate. The calculator helps merchants correctly convert their prices for the transition period when both currencies are in circulation, ensures proper dual display labeling, and allows customers to verify that euro prices are fair and not artificially inflated. The calculator uses the official fixed exchange rate of 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN, which was established by the European Council for the transition period starting January 1, 2026. This tool is essential for merchants preparing for the euro adoption and for customers who want to protect themselves from price increases disguised as currency conversion.
Using the calculator is very simple. Follow these steps:
The calculator uses the official fixed exchange rate established by the European Council: 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN. This means that to convert a price from BGN to EUR, you need to divide the BGN price by 1.95583. For example, if a product costs 19.56 BGN, the price in euros will be 19.56 ÷ 1.95583 = 10.00 €.
Our Euro Pricing Calculator automatically performs this conversion and shows the result with accuracy to the second decimal place, as required for currency operations. This ensures that dual display labeling of your products and services is fully correct and complies with BNB and European Central Bank requirements.
Example 1: Correct price
A product costs 39.12 BGN. The calculator calculates: 39.12 ÷ 1.95583 = 20.00 €. If you see a price of 20.00 € or 20.01 €, this is correct dual display labeling.
Example 2: Inflated price
A product costs 19.56 BGN. The correct price in euros is 10.00 €. If you see a price of 10.50 € or more, this is a suspiciously inflated euro price.
Example 3: Large purchase verification
A service costs 195.58 BGN. The correct price in euros is 100.00 €. Use the Euro Pricing Calculator to verify that the stated euro price does not exceed this value.
The calculator uses the official fixed exchange rate of 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN, established by the European Council for the transition period starting January 1, 2026. This rate will not change throughout the transition period. The dual display and price conversion regulations are established by BNB and ECB. All calculations are in accordance with current legislation for the transition period. The calculator automatically checks for price correctness and warns of potential irregularities. For specific questions or complex cases, we recommend consulting with a bank, accountant, or BNB.
