About Calculators BG

Who builds this site, why it exists, and how I keep the numbers aligned with Bulgarian law — with sources you can verify yourself.

A personal introduction

I'm Dimitar Kozarski, based in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. I work in digital services and development — turning messy real-world problems into clear tools people can actually use. I also have experience in hospitality, where you constantly juggle costs, pricing, VAT and margins. That daily practice taught me how much it matters to get a fast, reliable estimate before you open a spreadsheet or wait for an accountant to reply.

I run Kalkulatori.bg as part of my work through Dragon Forged Dreams. You can see more about my projects at dragonforgeddreams.com. This site isn't a faceless corporate product — it's a project I maintain personally because I use these calculators myself and I want them to stay free for everyone in Bulgaria.

Why I built this site

It started with my own frustration: I needed one place to check net from gross salary, VAT on an invoice, NAP interest on overdue obligations, and a dozen other things — without hunting through outdated blog posts every time. Friends and colleagues from hospitality and office jobs had the same issue. The information exists, but it's rarely bundled in a way that respects your time.

So I built Kalkulatori.bg as a set of free Bulgarian financial calculators, aligned with 2026 tax and regulatory context and the euro transition (dual pricing, change in euros at the till, back-office math). The goal is not to replace a certified accountant — it's to give you a straightforward, honest baseline before you make decisions or hire a professional for the hard cases.

How I keep the calculators up to date

Formulas and default rates are checked against official sources, not random copy-paste from forums. For national taxes, revenue deadlines and related parameters I rely on materials published by the National Revenue Agency (NAP) — nap.bg. For social security contributions, insurable income thresholds and related rules I cross-check NOI (National Social Security Institute) — noi.bg and update the site when legal changes are published.

Where relevant (for example statutory interest), I also follow BNB reference rates. When the law changes, I update parameters in code and, when possible, the explanatory text on each calculator page. If you spot an error, please tell me — fixes are part of normal maintenance.

Verifiable presence & transparency

My professional work and other projects are listed on the Dragon Forged Dreams website — that is the real business behind maintaining Kalkulatori.bg. For how affiliate links are used, see our affiliate disclosure.

Disclaimer — not professional advice

All calculators on Kalkulatori.bg are provided for informational and educational purposesonly. Results are indicative and reflect the general rules and parameters I have implemented as of my last review. They do not constitute accounting, tax or legal advice and are not a substitute for a qualified professional (accountant, tax advisor, lawyer) — especially for complex contracts, foreign income, disputes with the revenue authority or individual relief cases.

What you'll find on the site

More than 50 free tools — VAT, salary and social contributions, loans, mortgages, NAP interest, family budget, euro transition helpers for merchants, fitness timers and more. No registration is required. Ads and occasional partner links help cover hosting and development; they do not change the price you pay for third-party products.
